Thanks for the reply. I have been playing for a little more than two years now and am starting to learn how to practice, so that is why I've started clocking AP speed.

As you start to progress up the tempo, it is good to keep the movements minimal, and only to touch the strings enough for the to ring. Digging in is useful but when playing fast it can cause pick stops. Here are couple of tips:
- try to make every picking movement even and light, start with light movements at slow tempos and continue when you speed up the exercise. This will lead to more gentler and precise movements hopefully. - angle your pick so that you get even sounds from every picking motion, experiment during practice and see what angle works best. - try to find a thinner pick (but still stiff) pick, and experiment with different picks until you find the one that suits you the best -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
