Hey there!

Great to see you working on some more of my lessons.

Let's start from things we can fix in general.

The tone - there a different type of tone needed for this kind of lesson. Your tone seems to be like an american hi-gain (californian) amp with lowered gain amount. Unfortunately dynamics response of your tone is flattened and most notes sound sharp, even if you hit them softly. Some kind of marshall crunch/plexi tone type would be best for this one. No booster or eq in front of the amp. Now the trick to get perfect tone for this lesson is to find a balance between gain and treble. The lower gain, the more treble you can add so the notes you hit hard will sound sharp and loud, while softly played notes should sound almost like a clean tone - not only less loud but less sparky. It's not an easy thing to get but those are essential tips on where to search for adjustment


Breaks....between notes. You tend to cut the sustain of some notes too early. It happened with some of your previous takes of other lessons as well (we did mention that). It makes the solo sound dry, while we would expect to make those notes sound "glued" one with another.

Timing - there are moments that happen to be off the beat

As for particular licks:

At the beginning you should make the the lisde to e note faster (without visible break between e and previous note).

At the c note an intonation problem occurs. You could also vibrate that note for a longer time

On the tapped harmonics spot, you should not release the pressure of left hand fingers. Harmonics should smoothly overlay the notes that freely sustain. There is no break/pause between them.

At 0:32 we have a bending pitch problem (too low)

At 0:33 ascending run at least one note has been lost. Probably randomly muted or a hand sync issue.

As for the chorus part it's quite ok. Just the timing issues happening at some spots - for example rhytmitised bends (0:57)

There are some more details but I belive those above are prior to be fixed.

I would highly suggest to treat the tone as a very first fix. Even while having some precision problems, just by havign the right tone and dynamics control, you can make this lesson sound really good and boost overall all impression even up to 100% better!

Overall it's a good draft of the lesson and we can start working on making it sound pro.

Hi Petr, this is a good first go at this lesson, as Darius said. As always, we've got some ideas for improvement.

Your timing is improving all the time, which is great to see. In this take, you have a few moments of going in front of the beat during the alternate picked repeating lick starting at 0:34. After some time, you begin to feel the rhythm a bit better and bring it back to the right place. So just try to relax into the beat a bit more. I know it's hard to watch your timing as well as concentrate on the technique but you can do it

Hi Petr,

Darius has marked each detail that needs attention on this take in order to adjust your playing. To summarise the things that need polishing, here you have a list:

- BENDING: Your bends are not reaching the correct pitch. Isolate each one, play the target note and then bend to it.

- TIMING: The issue is not dramatic, but the trickier licks are the ones that need more attention regarding this (Check Darius times).

- ALTERNATE PICKING: Your picking is a bit sloppy. I would add some technique exercises in your practice. Or you could also isolate the trickier parts and work on them as a loop.

- TONE & DYNAMICS: The first one is related to adjusting your amp, the other one is relate to your right hand work.


That's what I find more relevant here. Work on it and let us know when you have a new take!
