I figure the title alone would be enough to catch someones attention. So, that lengthy title is also the lengthy title of my newly finished song and the sixth installment of nine in my little sci-fi story. Lyrically this was one of my favorites. Because the protagonist (simply named Pariah) at this point is preparing to go to war with the super-sentient and super-massive machine race that annihilated all existence and Earth (dubbed the Logic Council). The structure that he has been living in (Named Atlas, a super-massive one that creates universes) is basically the collective consciousness of a previously extinct race. Weakening due to extreme age and the fact that it actually moves backwards through time, it lets itself die so the protagonist can embed his consciousness into the structure to more effectively oversee the war. Relinquish your form to us Atlas Dwelling on the fringes of space Eons of searching have come to an end No longer can we hide between worlds The war for existence has begun The Pariah Galaxies tossed across colossal voids Crushing stars to liquid to drown them A war where a lifetime is but a pause between The thought process of man and machine Atlas Slide into the waters, immerse yourself in energy Let the river guide you, into the realms of half-life The fluorescent blue emanates, glowing with brilliance The river accepts you in, Slip gently into unconsciousness The Universe Slide into the waters Embrace eternity The Pariah As I enter the essence of this structure The water becomes increasingly dense testing the limits of my body The current increases and deeper I go, lungs filling fast My body dies and violently separates from mental reality The Universe Slide into the waters Embrace eternity The Pariah I am no longer of man, formless with no physical link Consciousness embedded existence, necessary step in the path of war Atlas whispers into my ear, like haunting winds in a hollow forest Atlas Though eternity is uncertain, our existence is sacrificial The Pariah For the last time I can recall The man that was once me My sins I do not forgive Though little it matters For I am no longer of man Atlas + The Pariah Galaxies tossed across colossal voids Crushing stars to liquid to drown them A war where a life is but a pause between Actions considered between man and machine Atlas As you die and are reborn We see the birth of the new universe As we fall into the beginning of time You must see this war to the end The Universe Slide into the waters Embrace eternity Atlas Your rebirth is almost complete And now we can peacefully die The fate of all is in your hands Our lives remain insignificant The Universe Fall into unconsciousness And die... |
