I joined GMC after a particularly bad time in my life. I felt I was trying to "resurrect" myself by taking a renewed interest in things I had enjoyed before I lost my way, including guitar playing. Sorry if that sounds a bit depressing ...

Well i have an obsession with shred music and Yngwie Malmsteen (and also John Petrucci but that doesnt show in my name) hence Unleash-The-Shred. Yngwie's saying is Unleash The Fury, for those who dont know so it kinda popped into my mind.

No, being able to start new after bad times isn't depressing, glad you made it so far.

Mine is just a nickname of mine, for lack of a better term. It's just always been my "other name", since I was a little kid. It's got nothing to do with the definition (a breeze of some kind) or the wind in Greek mythology, it's just always been there... blink.gif

P.S. I haven't been able to get into GMC all day until just now, was the site down for a bit or something?

Andrew - because my first name is Andrew
Cockburn because its a brand of Port I like.

Oh, and its also really my name smile.gif When I registered I got confused and thought it was asking for my real name as an internal record, didn;t realize it would be my forum name .... I have often wished I could have picked something cool and musical sounding, but even now I can;t think of anything particularly, so Andrew Cockburn it stays ... by the way, I do have an evil twin login name I use for testing sometimes but I will never tell what it is !
