More Seniors?

Hi all,

well, we launched the Senior Program over 2 years ago now, and in that time we have promoted a handful of people to this august rank! Much as we had hoped, these people have mostly remained core contributers to GMC helping out in a variety of areas such as the Wiki, Competitions, Virtual Bands, Moderation etc - without them we couldn't keep the site going!

For newer members, here is the original post in which we launched the Senior program and described its goals, and also announced new Seniors as we promoted them:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=4837

Now, we haven't had any new Seniors for quite a while - mainly because Kris and I have been focused on a number of other programs. However, there are some very deserving members out there, and we want to get things moving again! Remember that amongst the benefits of being a senior are a custom phrase above your Avatar, access to the Seniors board for discussion and input into GMC, and FREE GMC MEMBERSHIP! In exchange we just want Seniors to stick around and continue to do what they are already doing, and in some cases maybe take on some additional GMC duties.

So this time around, we want to open things up a little - the process will be as follows:

1. We will start a thread for nominations. Remember that we particularly want to reward people that go above and beyond to make GMC a better place, help others and are generally mature and an example to others. Look at the people who are seniors already to see the kind of people we want. In your nomination, wrote a few words about why you think they are particularly deserving of becoming a Senior.

2. Kris and I will pick 3 members we believe are suitable from the list

3. The existing seniors will vote on those 3 and we will select the winner and announce it in the forums

4. We will try to do this on a more regular basis - although once again I want to stress that there is no quota system in action here - if there is no-one suitable we won't create any more seniors - at the moment though I think we are due a few more as the forum has grown and it has been a while!

Kris and I might on occasion spontaneously create new Seniors out of particularly deserving individuals, but this will be the new mechanism moving forwards.

Just in case you ever wondered who does what at GMC, check out the new Org Charts that Fran put together for us!

So, look out for the nominations thread and lets make some new Seniors!

All looks great but I noticed one thing,
for Gabe it goes like this: Argentina (Buenos Aires) GMC Coordination Recording Studio
So if we follow the same pattern
then for Zsolt it should be: Hungary (Budapest) GMC Coordination Recording Studio.

Good job tho! smile.gif

Very interesting! I will definately put a nominee in the thread and write a bit. I have to check out posts dating a while back, as I have several candidates in my head.

Once again - it's great to see the development going on here at GMC! smile.gif
