Does anyone know of any guitar extraction software for Windows other than Jam Vox which allows you to extract guitar parts alone in a song?
See : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7OUdqDgZrA
Is that even possible?
first time I hear that, sorry my ignorance...
You misunderstood the function of that VOX product. It cuts out the guitar parts while the other tracks (vocals, drums...) are kept.
I could be wrong but the Transcribe! program has the function of emphasizing the guitars volume , not exactly cutting :\
I think that this is impossible... Maybe a good eq could emphasize the guitars but it depends on the type of music that you are processing. If the mix has any other instrument in the same frequence range than the guitar you can't eliminate it. And generally all the instruments has harmonics (fundamental frequence multiples) in different parts of the spectrum.
I don't think such software exists..And that VOX product seems highly "fishy" to me..It "works" in the demo but I highly doubt it will work on modern songs production we all would need it to work on..
We already had a topic about this. I think this software can produce some results, but you can get better results if you EQ the song in DAW and cut some frequencies where guitar is at. You can't cut only the guitar I'm afraid, Gab and others are right. You will cut everything in that frequency range, so the guitar can be a bit lower in volume, but it will be there.
Those songs have the solo guitar as only high frequency input. Put a woman singing together or a keyboard and it will be removed too...
