Yeah your right Toni, in fact as far as I'm aware the only Opeth album that is a 'concept album' in the strictest sense of the term is My Arms Your Hearse. Which is an amazing album, so I'll go for that as my fav.

Yeah, and I think Still Life is also a concept album in the strictest sense of the term, 'cause all of the songs follow the one storyline throughout the whole album. Ghost Reveries is almost a complete concept album, except for the last track, "Isolation Years" smile.gif

Posted by: Fsgdjv Dec 16 2007, 06:24 PM

Blackwater Park is not a storyline album, but all the songs are about the same theme, and it's very well summarised at the end, so that's why I call it a concept album. But yeah, the only two strict storyline albums are MAYH and SL.

I also have to add two albums that I completely forgot about when I wrote my list:

Ulver - Bergtatt
Ulver - Nattens Madrigal

Posted by: Wyvernx Dec 16 2007, 08:16 PM

Iced Earth - The Dark Saga
Iced Earth - Something Wicked This Way Comes (last 3 songs tongue.gif )

I'm not sure if this counts but
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Posted by: Bedlam Dec 18 2007, 07:34 PM

The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute
Isis - Panopticon

Yeah, they create such a great atmosphere. I forgot to mention Oceanic!

I was going to see these guys live with Tool on their last year, but Maynard got sick and they skipped San Antonio... then when they rescheduled, Danny hurt his arm... then they rescheduled again and Isis wasn't available... sucky!

Posted by: Tomotoms Dec 19 2007, 03:10 PM

Smashing Pumpkins - Machina (The Machines Of God)

Posted by: Arrival Dec 19 2007, 09:52 PM

Coheed and Cambria - All 4 Albums
Tool - Lateralus
The Who - Tommy
Pink Floyd - The Wall (Some, I really dislike Roger Waters)

Posted by: Jakub Luptovec Jan 1 2008, 11:37 AM

Oh... I am surprised noone said that:-P

Fear Factory - Obstolette

Btw. I can see some kind of concept also in the new Transgression - seems to me like a story about nuclear bomb blast and some kind of war afterwards..

Meh.. I am hi-jacking a thread lil' bit ain't I?smile.gif
