GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Back To 80's!

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi May 21 2013, 05:01 PM

Hey guys! Today was published my first lesson based on 80's hard rock bands. I started with the legendary rockers "Motley Crue". If you didn't, you can check the lesson here:

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Motley-Crue-Style/

This thread is to invite everybody to share his favorite 80's hard rock bands...

Steel Panther! biggrin.gif

On a serious note:

Bon Jovi had awesome hard rock songs in the 80's.

I really liked 'Warlock' back in the 80's. Not just because of Doro rolleyes.gif but they were a really good 80s rock band.
Although I think my favourite 80's hard rock album is Alice Cooper's 'Constrictor'. I played that to death in '86 biggrin.gif

Van Halen

My first pick would be Dio! I don't think much has been covered with Dio at GMC. It would be cool to see a lesson devoted to them. smile.gif

Also Ratt- Out of the Cellar album has loads of great riffs and leads. They would fit well into the series. cool.gif

btw. if they ever did a movie about Alice Cooper, who else would be as perfect as Steve Carell to play him?

I will definitely do something in the style of Alice. I will pay more attention to Warlock's music. Thanks!

Def Leppard Hysteria was played a lot by me in the 80's

If I'm allowed to creep into the 90's then Giant - Time to burn was a great album (and one of the reasons I play a James Tyler guitar)

well...... seeing as we have swerved into lesson requests wink.gif Alex Lifeson. I dont think we have any Lifeson / Rush style lessons but it would be awesome to have some ( or one! ).
Ive been trying to learn a few rush songs recently and Ive become even more impressed with Lifeson's playing.
