GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Classical Gas.

Hi

This is my first accoustic recording on my new Saffire Pro 24 DSP interface. This is my favourite classical song to play, so I did this test recording with my Manuel Rodriguez D guitar.

About the guitar: I don´t like it so much. It sounds boxy and closed and lacks sustain. The strings I have on it are D´addario ProArte E46 hard tension composite, but I don´t like them on this guitar. The G string is compleatly damped and the basses produce alot of noice and sqeaks. I have ordered Savarez Alliance strings that I´m going to try on it, I think it will sound better with those, but it will not make it great.

The good news is that I have bought another classical guitar online, and I am now waiting for it to arrive, and I´m so excited about it. It´s a Ramirez 125 Ano (Cedar top), but that guitar is in a whole different league then my current Rodriguez. smile.gif But I had to cough up $2400 for it plus shipping costs. ohmy.gif

I will then make another recording of Classical Gas and other pieces when I have broken in my new Ramirez. smile.gif

Hope you like this one, comments would be great.

Thanks guys. smile.gif

I don´t have that magazine hehe......but I used many tabs and listened to performances on youtube, and of course the original version. There are no 100% correct tabs out there, so I just used bits from few tabs and listened closely to the recording to get it right.

I actually learned it some time ago, but I have only played it on the steelstring, but it sounds so much better on the classical, but takes some time getting used to the wide neck and the nylon strings. Now I think I prefer the classical over the steel strings, at least for the moment. smile.gif The neck on my Ovation is extra narrow, so it´s wierd going back to it after being playing the wide classical neck for some time.
