GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Buffering Problem

Posted by: shammy Oct 6 2008, 12:00 AM

Hey guys can someone tell me if it's on my end or is the site to busy, I have problems watching video's because it's constantly buffering. Please let me know if anyone has had issues lately, I don't notice it on anything else I do online. Thanks

that happens sometimes. It shouldn't last long. I've had that problem twice in 2 months for a couple of hours.

I've never had this problem with the videos but I have a quick connection.

The telecommunications company I work for gives us free internet,tv, phone. I have an 8MB DL connection and 2 up. My machine is pretty much state of art pc, i built it myself with all the best parts 6 months ago. When I do network usage checks it's showing clean and I have tried different routers and modems. It has gotten really bad lately , never had this problem before. Weird thing is that different teachers and lessons flow smoother than others. some np, some it's like come back in a half an hour and it should be buffered all the way. I know things can happen with internet, i'm in the business, so I'm not blaming gmc, just wanted to see if other people would say honestly if they are having problems. That's all. Peace.

what about a sound card crapping out, will this cause this?

Different teachers use different quality I believe so it will do. They all load quick but I got a silly PC with a 20Mbit connection

Everything is in order here mate, it must be a local problem of some sort. Wait for a couple of days, perhaps links are congested that's all. Cheers smile.gif

Try this,

Open a command prompt by clicking on "Start>Run" and then type "cmd" and click OK. This will give you a black window where you can issue commands.

Type "ipconfig /release" without the quotes.

Then type "ipconfig /flushdns".

Reboot your system and things should seem better.

Cheers

For some reason when I use my wife's mac the videos take forever to load, I guess the browser used makes a difference

I didn't know this advice existed. Great page and very helpful. The number one problem is network connection but also a good connection can have high network traffic at peak times limiting your speed especially if you download and upload a lot of information. Also your hard drive being very full up may hinder your speed. Remember ALWAYS keep 10% of your Hard Drive capacity empty.

This advice should work as on my connection I NEVER experience problems with buffering. The site runs faster than any other one I use and is very efficient so it's usually a problem with your computer or connection.
