Well, I had a pleasant evening last night; I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Loomis and witness his legendary sweeping. He demonstrated some of his new material from Zero Order Phase, Sacristy being a rather nice little tune, as well as some of the popular solos from Nevermore such as those lovely diminished arps from This Godless Endeavour.
He seems a nice guy too, however he did seem knackered. Apparently the airport lost his luggage.
It was also one of the first times that I managed to get away from my work and chillax with a good friend of mine for a few drinks. In addition it was the first time I had ever won anything - they held a raffle. Whilst I didn't win the Schecter guitar I did walk away with a box of Elixir strings and a groovy guitar cable
Anyhow, I've still got a bit of a hangover and I need to get back to my work. Still I have Friday to look forward to what with Dream Theater, Opeth, Unexpect and Bigelf playing at a venue near me. All this guitar mastery surrounding me this week actually makes me want to play a bit..
..those Elixir strings look nice.. *looks at guitar*
That's cool
That's awesome man, I'm glad you are having fun on gigs and that lots of cool musicians are coming, it is always a great experience to watch any big bend live.
yeah, that´s cool man! Loomis is one of my favorite guitar player right now.
Great, Jeff is an awesome player and a very nice guy, we had a great time when Nevermore were opeing up for us back then.
I went to the one in Manchester too! It was a great performance, seeing Jeff perform those sweeps from miles of machines pretty much perfectly was probably the highlight for me. Sadly I didn’t win the guitar either.
Nice!
I would love to see him live!!!
That's awesome man!
