Guitar Scales

Like I have guitar pro and I can see all of the scales but I don't know if it is in A B C D E F G, or any of that. How do you tell? If there is any book you recommend I should get I will be more then happy to go get it.

I suggest you take a look at Andrew's theory lessons if your stuck on the theory bit of it- but is it that you don't know how to view a particular scale using Guitar Pro? I've got it open here- perhaps i can help ya out.

Like I know to view the scales like but it shows it for the whole fret board.

I was like E Pentatonic scale or what ever like it shows on here like the root note and everything.

just showing me a scale like that.
