Task 33: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/climax_in_a_solo/

So I'm the Donut King for a week ! What a great honour and a great pleasure to pick a lesson. Time for a melodic but technical lesson. You are warriors and I picked a lesson you should be able to play.

I love this song, so go back to work right now. You have a week to make me proud !

Deadline is next Friday 14th September or I'll send Ben to a Taylor Swift show !
Of course, you'll have to go with him laugh.gif

Nice choice... tasty and technical.

I don't want anything to do with a Taylor Swift show so I better get to it...

Alrighty, here it is!

Love the arrangement of this solo. Emir Hot's tone is freakin' awesome. Can't wait to hear the takes on this one. smile.gif

Mr DeGronut!

Have you practiced this lesson before or did you start when GG announced it? I really like your take. The staccato notes are sharp and powerful and you totally own the fast part. Good job!

I so want to learn this one, but will try to finish Set the Pace first. wink.gif

DeGronunt... biggrin.gif

Thanks man. I learned it in one sitting actually (couple hours). This one just kinda clicked for me. The other Emir Hot solo that was a Warrior task a while back had a similar flow, so that probably helped.

Ok Guys, here is my submission ! Too late for a Donut but I hope this will keep my away from any Taylor Swift concerts !! biggrin.gif

I changed that note at 0:38 because the interval just sounded nicer to my ears as the other note felt unresolved but that's just me and my funny ways of hearing things smile.gif

I think DG had the edge over me in a lot of ways on this one.. respect !! cool.gif

Now that's how it's done! You definitely added the 'Higgins' touch to it. Variations with vibrato and bending sounds great! smile.gif

Wow guys, both takes are really very nice. DeGroot's take was just DeGroot's take, full of his style and tone. Very nice, I always enjoy his playing... In Ben's take, that note at 0:38 was the first thing I noticed, I think I like the original note better. Also I am not sure if I like the bending style at 0:17 and 0:20. But that's just my bad taste probably biggrin.gif The last AP run was really impressive, if I can one day AP like you Ben, I can stop playing guitar smile.gif

How dare you not like something in my take ?! I'm never talking to you again !

Haha

No, that's cool... laugh.gif

I think you're almost there with the AP anyway.. certainly around my level ! smile.gif

I am kind of following from way behind but well smile.gif I lost too much time with the string skipping lesson then had a small accident and yesterday I started playing again. This is a quick take, it has some mistakes but will fix them for a second take and post again. Any feedback is very welcome smile.gif Takes by Ben and Mr-D were just too great, hope I came close to doing it at least some justice smile.gif
