For me there wasnt as many contenders as 2017 but I think it came down to Clutch with 'book of bad decisions' or Ghost 'Prequelle'.

Im going to go with Ghost smile.gif
I really enjoyed every track on Prequelle. Loved the instrumental tacks as well, they are brilliant. Just an awesome album.

anyone else got a favourite from 2018?

I'll go with Triumphant Hearts. My parents love it, even my grandparents from mom's side love it. As for me, I feel like travelling around the globe for the next year and get signatures from every guitarist involved on the poster I got with CD. It's definitely different than Perpetual Burn but it's just as amazing! smile.gif

As far as disappointing albums of 2018, Ive gotta go for Greta van fleets album. I was really looking forward to it as well but it was a bit 'meh'.
I really liked 'When the curtain falls' that's a great track but the rest were hit and miss.... mostly miss.
Had to laugh at them using the lyric "To wonderlands of ice and snow" on the opening track rolleyes.gif

I'll need to check that one out. Not even heard any tracks from it!

I should check it. I honestly, never been a fan of their music. I get bored very soon.

Im quite surprised to see it winning on that site. Ghost seem to make a lot of people really angry cool.gif
They grew on my slowly TBH. I thought their first 2 albums were okay but the last 2 'Meliora' and 'Prequelle' were amazing.
lots of different styles from 70s rock, 80's hard rock, occult rock, and some thrash riffs all mixed together with a pop rock veneer.
a bit cheesey maybe but Im okay with that. smile.gif

Have only heard this song of this 2018 release of the super-group "Progger"s latest album; Dystopia. But damn...
It's one of my favorite Jazz-Fusion grooves of all time.
