The bridge is shaped this way to help make the scale length different without fanning the frets too much. You can find many guitars (also 6 strings) with diagonal pickups as well. The Agiles have much better quality control than the Douglas and SX series guitars, but with an Ibanez at least I'd be able to try one in the store, be able to trust the quality more, and have an easy return police. None of which Rondo/Agile seem to match. Again, just my opinion... I've tried some great Agile guitars, just the quality control is too varied for me to ever consider any single model "quality instrument for the price", they're all too different. I have NEVER seen an AGILE in the music stores I frequent and I"m in a Major Metropolitan Area. I have seen pretty much every IBANEZ I can think of, even the brand new 8 string that is their "starter" model which is not bad at all by the way. Goes around $400 but not fanned The AGILE guitars have always looked amazing on the page, in vids, etc. Keep waiting for one to show up used in a guitar shop and it just hasn't happened.
