Personally I think unless you know exactly what you are doing I would not attempt any form of customization on the neck at all, thats a highly skilled job imo, to get it right anyways.

However, hows about a bit of a paint job, if your the arty type? change of pickups?

New machine heads could be something, locking tuners but only if it goes out of tune else it's good as it is I guess.

what about some hologram type things? when you play live they pick up the spotights (if there is any) really well, get like a beam coming off the guitar smile.gif

Put some stickers on it wink.gif There's no "better" way to ruin a guitar.

I really don't know... id oyu got active EMG's you could do the 18v mod by adding another battery.

There's always crap like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Electric-Guitar-LED-li...1QQcmdZViewItem

Stickers do muck up a guitar, for sure.

Nothing adds character like excessive wear on an instrument, perhaps hours and hours more practice time tongue.gif.

If you wanted something a little more flamboyant perhaps consider another guitar all together, an LP is on the conservative end of the spectrum as far as guitar bodies go.

Maybe just trade in your Epi for one of these bad boys. it will improve your sound and looks Check out one of these babies

Same EMGs as yours but with a 20db boost you can adjust and toggle on to stand out in solos or sustain a chord longer. Plus the neck thru construction aught to give you comparable sustain.

If your LP has a pickguard, might find more outlandish pick guards. Might get a good friend to stencil/paint a cool flourish/design behind your tailpiece of your bridge.

If you're really aching to get to something more flamboyant, might check out getting a pair of those gloves cops use to direct traffic with and cut the fingers off, that way your hands will be fluorescent orange or yellow w/ reflective patches on the palms.

EDIT: DUH! get new speed knobs. I got some for my schecter that are clear cylinders w/ skulls w/ red eyes. Kind of tacky, sure. And you can always upgrade your strap to something more appropriate.

the thing is, changing my LP for a V wouldnt be a good idea. i love the weight of the LP. i try to play my friends guitar and its way to light!
the only knobs i'd want are ones that go to 11... just because!
pickguard is a good idea. i dont use mine because its cream and looks horrible.

You want heft? Then get one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BC-Rich-Acrylic-Series...1QQcmdZViewItem

It's a guitar made out of plate glass. You know the aquariums with like 3 feet of acrylic glazing that they keep whales in and stuff? Yeah, that's the same stuff this guitar is made out of. Very heavy duty.

slap new pickups on it
a kill switch is always easy to do, just get a button, solder one wire of it to the volume knob on the middle bit and solder the other wire on to earth, when you press the button it should work as a killswitch smile.gif you need to get a push to make switch
