Well what song, or songs did you benefit the most from. In all your guitar playing years. Somthing that maybe got you to start doing alternate picking. Or maybe some song that got you to be able to mute better. Or even sweeps or anything. What song started you off, and gave the inspiration to stay and play. To make you tell yourslef. Hey i CAN get good!!

Mine would have to be.

Intro to Broken by seether, and the solo
The Love song by tesla
Little Wing by: jimi hendrix
Fade to black By: Metallica

those are a few of mine. That really got me going. And made me get more tabs. And learned many more songs. Those four really helped. Me a lot!!

I remember the First night I learn the Main riff to Layla.

I was 15, and It was late at night.

I had just discovered Clapton, and was Dying to know how to play that Riff.

lol it was a few days before Christmas 2004...

I barely knew how to read tabs back then, But I went to a Tabs site.
I got the Tab went to my Room, lol it was a few days before Christmas 2004...

Back on my old Squier Strat.

I remember the first time I played it.... My life changed from that Moment on.

I made this thread. Not only to find out. How people got started, and what they played, but to show beginners where its good to start from. Whats songs to learn, and what not. Theres many beginners. That get totally lost on what to play, and if this or that is just to hard for them. If they see where we started from. It will give them a better view on where to start from!!

Stash by Phish taught me a lot. Thats the only one where I can really go "yeah, that one helped me a lot."

[edit] Oh wait, there is one more. "Is there anybody out there", an acoustic thing by pink floyd. Really helped me a lot, pretty simple too, I would suggest to anyone to learn it.
