I cant play my BC Rich SOB standing up as the weight distribution is terrible! The headstock is so heavy it just plummets to the ground! mad.gif Is there any way you can correct this noninvasively? Moving the strap buttons is out of the question ( no where to move them that would work! would have to be half-way up the neck! laugh.gif )

Can you add wights to the strap on the body end? or is there another way to deal with this!!!! unsure.gif

Maybe use a good, wide, leather strap, they stick more than usual cloth straps.

My SGs are top heavy and a leather strap helps, maybe take a trip to a shop with your guitar and try different straps, wish you luck wink.gif

I remember i had a similar problem when i first got my Gibson Les Paul.
It was a pain to balance it, but like Fran, i got used to it after i found the right strap-type, which was a wide leather one.

I'll also recommend getting a wider strap. I have a Gibson Les Paul and well he's a beast. When I first got it, it was really hard to find a comfortable way to practice with it... I had opposite problem though as it was bottom heavy not top. Sitting, it would slide off my leg and standing it would drop so it made it hard to strum/pick. I got the wider strap and it really seemed to work.

I also changed where I held my guitar, I use to play it rather low just below my belt, but now I play it more chest level. That helped too.

sounds to me like you got the wrong guitar. I would consider selling it.

I have grown to really appreciate a guitar where the manufacturer had to good sense to balance it.

Check out Parkers, perfectly balanced.

Les Paul's range from being decently balanced to perfectly balanced (my 58 reissue is as perfectly balanced as my Parker). Sounds to me that weight is not his problem, it is a neck that wants to droop.

Yeah, I have a fav strap that's just like that, it makes the guitar sit in place on the fabrick of the t-shirt or whatever. Picking the right sweater to go with the strap helps aswell.
