GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ What Do You Do When You Don't Play Guitar?

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Aug 31 2011, 09:23 PM

When you don't do anything music related - what do you do? Or, what was the last thing that you did?

I was painting a fence just couple of days ago, in green X)

Before that, I was painting some radiators in my appartment in purple and orange

Before that, I was painting some walls in purple....

Oh wait, what I'm doing here, I should be in paintmasterclass.net laugh.gif

I visit my favorite sites, such as this one. smile.gif

YES you should, as a STUDENT! laugh.gif

I don't have much time for myself. Got three boys. Everyday it's soccer or hockey, practice or games.

Sort out various problems, email people, keep the band running, practice karate, eat, feed horses, keep up to date on blabbermouth metal news, sometimes look at cars on pistonheads, read.

I'm very boring.. I need a holiday ! laugh.gif

The most taken up time for me is work. After that it could possibly be video games or movies. My newest hobby is going to the gym, weirdly enough it seems to help my guitar playing.

well said smile.gif I played through PORTAL 2 a bit back and really liked it. The multi player bit was sooo cool. Made me wish there was a online quasi death match version of Portal. Portal with Guns! The portal tactical device would come in handy for CQB!

I work at a school and i do sports in the evenings and weekends.

I also watch films and surf the net

Posted by: Sickz666 Sep 1 2011, 08:54 PM

School and homework together with guitar take most of my time.

But when i have time i hang out with friends, browse the web, i always like to watch some good movies, and maybe play some video games.

eegads. I work all day, spend the evening with my family helping with homework and my wife is a professional photographer, so I often help her with computer related stuff (since I'm a programmer by trade). That leaves me 3-4 hours a night for music, which I never skip! So I work all day, and play all night. Sleep? well, that's one of those necessary evils.

Recently got back from a tour overseas......with the Army....I had 2 months off for leave....thats when i joined GMC...ONly went back to work at the start of the week....Then I broke my ankle!!! So I am now on crutches hobbling around.... mad.gif

BUt usually....

I work during the day...come home to my 4 month old Son, play with him and cook dinner and clean the house....after he is in bed asleep, i scurry away to my music room and get about 2 hrs in....doesn't leave much time for sleep but....I'll sleep when I'm dead. wink.gif

Yeah.. although being out there you've only got one choice which is to get on with it and survive.. back home you can choose whether to avoid putting your ankle through stick and I don't think I would either ! wink.gif

Hang out with the kids and let them kill me on XBOX. Mow the lawn and fulfill the honey do list my wife makes for me all the while thinking about my next GMC lesson!

Plus I work too...

Posted by: Nihilist1 Sep 25 2011, 10:25 PM

I work. I generally play Magic the Gathering, but since I have been practicing 5 hours a day on the weekdays and 10 hours each day on the weekend... At least I have the time right? I didn't play yesterday because I went on a hike with some friends. Ironically enough I am not having any problems playing close to the fretboard today. Maybe I just needed a break?
