GMC Forum _ Uploads _ Some Opinions On New Tone

Posted by: The Uncreator Apr 7 2010, 10:33 PM

I gotta few songs in the work that are kind of along the lines of Symphonic/ Death Metal, So I tried making some new tones for these specific ones. That, also coupled with extensive FF13 playing has created some boss battle type atmospheres if they did it tuned way down low laugh.gif

So i'd like your opinions on this first guitar tone, I was going for a kind of dirty and dark sound. I wanted all the chords to have just a touch of some early 90s black metal in them with a more modern "non-basement" sound laugh.gif Its just music right now. I'm not recording vocals till I'm 100% sure on the music and everything else. Its a rough mix, no extreme mixing/ mastering, just some little eq work to make it sit nicer.

So let me know of your opinions! smile.gif

The tone is perfect for the style. Nice and punchy while still comming out clear, even with a low tuning!

Its a 7 string, So I didnt have to worry about a low tuning sounding muddy. I usually wont take a 6 string below C Standard anyway, Glad ya like it to, Thanks many! smile.gif

Yeah its a custom kit I made in Steven Slate Drums. SSDEX is like $100 and its pure amazing. All you need is a host like Reaper, Cubase, or whatever and you can program them right in. Or you can hook up electric drum kits to it, Its easy to learn which is also good.
