Sculpted neck heel and a new model 'name' for their single coil pickups and the ability to add in the neck pkup to any of the other combinations (cool feature). As for the humbuckers, Tim Shaw has been designing them for Fender for several years now so nothing new there. *He was a Gibson pkup designer in the 80s. The price is same as last years (last two years) model so other than a slight contouring of the neck heel and few new names and tweaks, there's no real difference. It's a friggin' Strat (or Tele or Jag, etc.). If you make it too different, change it up too much - then it isn't what it's supposed to be anymore.
The biggest attraction to a USA made Fender is the "USA" part. You will never lose money on a Fender or Gibson made in the States regardless of the actual quality. Witness the myriad Fenders and Gibsons from the 70s that 1) were mostly huge pieces of shit and 2) garner ridiculous prices.

Spot on per usual. It's the USA that's the important bit. Those instruments typically just go up in value no matter what. Most instruments lose value over time. The USA gibson/fender guitars are one of the great exceptions along with a few others. If anyone wants a guitar that they can use as a store of value, these are a good way to go. You get something that you can sell for more than you bought it for and can play music on as a bonus Just don't swap the pickups out for emgs or something which would lower the value even though it's technically an upgrade. Folks that love those like to get them as close to bone stock as possible typically.

I made a topic about American Elite series 2-3 year ago, friend of mine bought one and sold it not long after.

It's the only strat I can think of which I disliked the sound so much. The guitar felt great, but the sound...shaved off so much mid.s nearing EMG area. It wasn't about being noiseless though as many also dislikes them, I actually like the vintage sounding ones.

Keep all original parts, stickers, manuals, receipts, etc and if you think you're gonna ruin the original case - get another case or a gig bag to haul it around in.
If you have a 'stock' USA Fender, Gibson or an Ibnaez Japan with the OHSC and all the case candy - you will make money no matter when you sell it.

*I've tried a few current American Pro Strats and Teles. They feel pretty good but whatever pickups they're putting in those things - ?, I think they sound like shit.

Very solid advice. Especially about the case. It's easy to forget that all the "case candy" and the case itself are all part of the value of a guitar. It's worth keeping the case and bits as fresh as possible just in case a sale does happen down the line. Thats the great thing about getting a real USA build guitar from a respectable builder. They are sorta like Ferraris in that the price usually goes up over time whereas most cars and guitars go down in price over time.
