Am I allowed to add to this too, even if I haven't practiced it ?
This is probably my favourite composition - Gabriel's Megadeth lesson. This could have actually been on Countdown To Extinction as it's so good. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...riffing-lesson/ This post has been edited by Ben Higgins: Jul 31 2011, 01:40 PM |

One of the two Goal's I have here is this: Dream Theatre : Oveture 1928 By (The Amazing) Daniel Realpe
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Dream_...-Overture_1928/ AND thew second lesson is the most amazing piece of music I have heard in a long time.... Nocturnal Vision, Marcus and Kris...absolutly breathtaking!!!! https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...-vision-lesson/ This lesson is my ultimate goal here....Play this without a problem...I have a while to go, BUT, whithout a direction it can be easy to become Lost.... I really like Emir's two alternate picking triplets lessons:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/triplet_feel_riffing/ https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/ap_etu...m_triplet_feel/ And there are a bunch of other lessons that are great for the stuff I want to play. But my absolute favorite must be this one: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Michael-Schenker-Style/ H4H |

I'm not sure I can choose one, so instead you'll get the first lesson I really worked on here:
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...inger-work-out/ It's level 2, but I had a lot of difficulties with the speed in the beginning This post has been edited by Ulrik: Jul 31 2011, 03:30 PM -------------------- |

Awesome lesson recommendations! One of my favorite lessons/compositions is Muris's Lukather style solo, then Gab's Frusciante lesson. These are the first that come into my mind, but there are so many awesome lessons

Saying "1" seems just unreasonable to me, it is hard enough to say top 10. I will try that. edit: well I kept it down to about 30, best I could do. It is weighted towards older stuff, I have been around awhile, only so much I can learn. There are a limited number of lessons at or above level 7 that I think sound good at all, so I don't bother with them. Even if I play one, I might slow it down a bit. People sometimes try to play too fast I think, to the point that they make sacrifices in quality as a trade off for speed; it becomes counter musical to me when you do that. 7/8 Alternate Picking Exercise 80's Glam Lesson Anberlin D-Mood (very difficult to play and really get this right, Pavel had some interesting rhythms in his play) Eddie Van Halen (easy to keep up with the notes, but very difficult to perfect, even Muris did not get this perfected in my view, tapping should be full of life, accented, bubbly and rolling, just keeping up with the notes is not enough) Hammer On Dude Macedonian Style (very pretty, and eastern European rhythm) Mark Knopfler (because he had a unique sound) Melodic Dream (not hard, but pretty) Muse (great rhythm, not easy to get the accents right) Neoclassical Etude # 1 (most improperly "leveled" lesson at GMC, should be considerably higher) Paul Gilbert #2 Pentatonic Solo Power Metal Rhythm Solo [/b[b]] Power Rhythm Metal in E minor In the Style of Brian May (sounds more like Brian May than Brian May) Inspired by Audiopaal (this to me sounds like Jimmy Page in my most favorite way) J.S. Bach Melody (this teacher really came up with great stuff that was not all that hard) Riff in D Minor (just cool sounding) Rock Ballad (I like ballads, this one is a bit difficult, but really great) Rock Solo Beginner Roo Creative Metal Soloing Simple Melodies Part 2 (because it can make you cry) Country Solo Slash Sweep Picking Arpeggios Tapping Lesson (old one by Gab) Theme From Quarterworlds (another tear jerker) Velvet Revolver (similar to the Muse lesson, pretty ending) W.A. Mozart Turkish March Yngwie Style Lesson (Gab's 1st, Yngwie at his best) Winding Roads Zakk Wylde Style Lesson Awesome list man! This will be very helpful for new users here! -------------------- My lessons
