Since I'm looking for a new 2x12 cab, I came across this clip:



I don't think you can really make a fair judgment with one single eq setting and mic placement, but still, it's a good reference point and you can hear the character of the speakers. I personally liked the G12H 30 and the Vintage 30 from Celestion as well as the EVM 12L from EV. What do you prefer? smile.gif

I like the Celestion Vintage 30s for Metal. I don't know if they are the best speakers for that genre but the same speaker in diffrent cabs can sound vastly diffrent!

I just went through this when getting my new 2x12, I basically tried a load of speakers with my own guitar and amp at the factory and then had a cab built for those specific speakers while I waited, pretty awesome service and it wasnt much dearer than a cab built offshore!
