I don't feel very well today, so I hereby convene the next video chat for this Friday! We're talking about everything that you might be interested! You may want to link me some songs that interest you and you aren't sure what the progression/ lead / is concerned, and we gonna analyze them together!
thanks,
Sinisa
Let's see if this chat will be as legendary as Adam's and mine last week
Not sure if it is your cup of tea, but I'd like to know how to compose a decent Punk tune (and no, I don't mean a Ramones-three-chord piece ) and how to write rhythm and lead for this style.
Anyway, I'm sure it's gonna be fun!
Christian
Haha, great!
Lately, I've been listening A LOT to Yellowcard...I know Gabri just did a lesson on Pop Punk, but you can never know too much I am particularly interested in how to compose a verse riff, a pre-chorus and a chorus, the theory behind it, how to alter or inverse chords to make it sound more intersting, how to create little solo licks over a chord progression...you get the idea
Check this song out:
These guys are pretty good as well:
and of course:
Select any weird progression, crazy text, and three solo tone that runs through the whole tune and - you got a hit !!!
edit:
Are you sure that you will not any rock arrangement to analyze? ...well, we'll cook something
haha, that's what I was thinking, but I wanted to see what you can come up with! No really, there are some pretty cool punk songs that are not that simple, but I'm sure we'll find something for friday.
How about some classic Deep Purple riffs ?
Deep Purple? Heheheh, now you speak wisely !!!
Nice, we have a date
Meaning I'll be waiting for you in the chatroom on friday Hmm...that sounds kinda intimidating...you better come up with some classic rock riffs and ideas and theory how to compose new ones
