Hey

I began practicing vocals some months ago, and I would like to have your opinion on my thrash vocals. I am currently learning to play guitar and sing at the same time since I have taken on the singing duties of my band.
We are recording and re-recording atm. Here is a bit from the song "Ferocious Imps", which also is the name of the band. Check out our myspace in my signature to hear the former singer and the whole song.

What are your opinions? Do you like it? Better than the former singer? Is the song good? smile.gif

Edit: I thought I would add that we are currently in the recording process btw.. it's not mixed and bass isn't recorded yet, and it's most likely not final take on the vocals.

Hey Dexxter! I like the song. It's great to hear you singing! I like your voice very in the style of old school Thrash. I like your voice for this style. On a first impression I think that maybe you could sing the verses a little more agressive. I also hear some little pitch issues in the chorus. I think that if you take some formal instruction with a singing teacher you'll became a very good metal singer!

Thanks a lot Gabriel! I'll try your advice to sing more aggresively on the verses, and practice on staying in pitch. smile.gif

Very good! I think Gab is right when he says the vocals should be a bit more aggressive. Try to sing a lower vocal line as well if possible.

Thanks Ivan! Hmm, with lower, do you mean like almost growling? Because I think I'll have to do a growly voice if I am gonna go an octave deeper or so.

I liked it but I have to agree with others - expected more aggressive vocals and more "growling" voice. Looking forward to new takes! smile.gif

Thanks David and Bogdan!

Maybe I should've said we're more old school thrash, like Megadeth and such. Not growling tongue.gif But thanks a lot for all thoughts! smile.gif
