If someone has been very observant and/or stalking me on the forum, they might remember that I've been mentioning this Strat-guitar I'd like to rebuild. At the moment it's has a standard, black finish. It's not ugly, but I've toyed around with the idea of repainting it. The problem is that I have no idea where to get such paint. I take it that just regular construction-shop paint could damage the wood or affect tone in some way? So I was wondering if anyone know where I could find paint/finish that's useable for my guitar, or can recommend a brand? Thanks in advnace! I'll let you know the brand I used once I get back home sunday.. I'll put a pic up of it if u want too of the steps i took to paint it. I went to a paint shop, chose the best metallic paint from like a million samples, they mixed it up in front of my eyes, which was pretty interesting I painted the guitar but the clear coat lacquer wasn't good enough so it started to crack after some time.
