Greetings fellow axe slingers,

I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I'm originally from up North, Massachusetts to be precise. So I guess that makes me a damn yankee lol. I'm an Arab-Italian hybrid, so I'm quite familiar with both cultures, especially their foods. Best dishes in the world according to my taste buds. Holla' if you love Mediterranean food!

The music scene here in Charlotte is great and terrible at the same time. Its great if you're into country and the blues and its terrible if you're into metal. Which is the opposite of my home state, Massachusetts, where such bands as Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, and Godsmack hail from.

Anyways, enough of that, lets talk guitar playing. I joined this site to get some quality guitar lessons, and there are plenty of them on here. I like the fact that the instructors are from all around the globe, it offers so many different approaches to music. Everybody views the world and music differently, and the international nature of this site really appeals to me.

I have owned a guitar for almost ten years, but didn't really start playing till three years ago. And even then, I didn't make much progress, mostly because of inconsistent and shitty practice routines. I now realized that practice has to be focused, consistent, and with specific objectives.

My musical tastes are all over the place you could say. My playlist goes from "Cannibal Gluttony" by Torture Killer to "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees. But my main interests are somewhere in the middle: metal, classic rock, progressive metal/rock, and the blues, especially SRV.

So far I've really liked the lessons by Lian Gerbino, Gabriel Leopardi, and Zsolt Galambos. Their styles really suit my tastes.

So last year I read about the 10,000 hour theory, and decided to pursue it. What is the 10,000 hour theory? I will explain to those who don't know what it is in another post, but for now I thought I would just say hi. To paraphrase Neil Young, "Keep rockin' in the free world!"

Thanks dude, I actually took a train ride through Northern England on the way to Scotland once, was pretty nice. Didn't make any stops though, I heard the cities there are like the cities in the Northern US - consisting of many abandoned factories. We now call the Northeast the Rust Belt tongue.gif

Hey purple hayes, I'm actually a Yankee living in the South, back in the old days I would be called a "carpetbagger" tongue.gif But I definitely have picked up some southern customs, such as my love for spare ribs smile.gif
