Great to see first take over my lesson at GMC I think You realize that there is stil much work to be done at this lesson. At this moment it's rather Your free interpretation of the song. I suppose You did some of the changes purposely but as far as it's a leeson we should stick to the original Current take is a sketch...now we should work on some improvements step by step.

1. There are places where You didn't fit the rhythm - it's like You played some notes not in the correct moment
2. Some bends are over-bended
3. 0:15 - those notes should not be alll vibrated - those are straight notes with very precise one bend per 8 16th notes (last one is a break)
4. 0:23 those fast runs should start from the down stroke and this is very regular movements. Also...need more power from picking hand

Those are the suggestions for the start...I'm afraid there is too much to fix for now to analyze everything at the moment so I'll stop at this point. Please look closer to what is going on in this song.

Keep in mind that in funky grooves timming precision is a must. I know it can be hard to execute those 2nd and 4th of "4 16th notes groups" with break between, but that is the point in whole funky groovin'

Right hand has be be very efficient in this kind of playing - You have to be able to separate notes and breaks between them to make them very clean.

There is a lot of work to be done...but I hope You'll understand it's not trolling You but just a way to improve Your playing. Cheers!

Hi Jim! Congrats on your first REC take! This is not an easy lesson and you are on the right path with it. There are some sections that have timing issues in the first part of the lesson and also in the last phrases but the most important think to work are the faster parts, for example at:
00:18: should sound tighter and more consistent
00:27: work on timing and on getting that palm muting sound that Darius gets onhis take.
00:35: this lick doesn't sound clear

Keep on practising this one!

Hey man, I think that Darius and Gabe pointed out the spots where you need to work.

I will add that understanding the note durations (look at the GP file and listen to each part slowed down in there while watching the classical notation - it would be great if you could understand the length of the notes and the rests, because the tab doesn't show you that) and practicing each part at slow speed against a metronome will provide a far better view on things, after understanding and feeling the note and rest durations - I don't know if you already did that, but if not, I strongly suggest you to start doing it now
