Hi Steve,

Good job here! It's very important to have a good base, so working on these type of lessons is a very good idea. I can see that you don't have any issues with the chord shapes, and chord changes. Sometimes you don't look completely comfortable, but it's just a matter of time, you'll be with more days of practice.

I think that your tone could sound better here. The overall audio sounds a bit soft, and your guitar doesn't sound clear. You have to ways to fix this. The first one is moving the speaker closer to your camera mic. The second one would be to record your guitar using a multitrack software and then edit your video replacing the camera mic audio with the multitrack mix. Since this lesson is all about laying a rhythm foundation I would follow Ben's advice in part 9 of the lesson - and try to lock in with the groove with the right hand- This will def help you play more in time and prepare you for more advanced strumming patterns.

Your guitar might also be a bit out of tune.

Hey there!

Since the lesson is not not much complex, let's focus on the playing mechanics. Try to avoid having flat fretting fingers, liek you do while holding G-major chord. If you pass it at this point, you'll have problem getting rid of bad habit. It usually takes twice as much time to relearn, than to learn it good way from the basis.

On the "blank" strums you should try to keep simialr width of motion as when you hit the strings. It's one of the things you need to trust us because at this point there is no reasonable way to prove you why this is so important.

Tuning - no matter how advanced player you are, well intonated instrument will always make your performance sound much better. Spend some more time tuning your guitar. Hit some fretted notes and see if they tune as fine as open strings. If not, find a compromise.

Generally your on the good path. Applying these tips and having more practise time is all you need to make it sound the way it's expected
