Many years ago as an impressionable teenager I bought Rush Archives. Then I heard 2112. The rest is history.

I have grown up with RUSH and they continue today to be the most played music that I listen to.

Alex Lifeson is probably (in my opinion) the most under rated guitarist of his time.

I listen to the pieces he puts together and they flow so beautifully. We aren't talking fast scales and in your face solos but more about the sort of music I like. Just right for this part I call it.

Great stuff.

Cheers
Mike

Rush is also one of my favs, and I totally agree about Lifeson, I think its possibly because Rush has Neil Peart and Geddy Lee. Actually I don't think he's underrated I think its that he is overshadowed.

P.S. Has anybody read any of Neil Pearts books, I might buy one but I want to know if their worth reading.

Amazing is not the word. phenomenal. I just got finished listening to All the World's a Stage.

Quite possibly the best live album ever and definitely the best versions of every song on that disc. You would never know that it was recorded in 1976. Alex Lifeson's live playing is the showcase of the album when Rush was a guitar driven band.

I Also had had the pleasure to see them for Snakes & Arrows over the summer at the Tweeter Center in Mass. It was like going back in time to 1978 and listening to Hemispheres live, absolutely amazing. 3 hours of Rush with an intermission instead of an opening act. They are coming back again in June and I wouldnt miss it for the world.

What we need are some Lifeson lessons based on some old Rush, new Rush, what the hell all Rush laugh.gif

His style has evolved so every album sounds different but you can tell it's Lifeson.

Maybe a lesson in the different style of every album and call it the "Lifeson chronicles" laugh.gif

Wishful thinking I suppose. Rush Rocks
