Hey guys quick question
My line 6 spider 3 amp head has 4 channels. Clean, Crunch, Metal, and Insane. I currently do not have any pedals.

I was wondering, for example, if i wanted to get a distortion/overdrive pedal, i would have to keep the amp on the Clean channel when i use it right?

btw- I am looking at the BB Preamp anyone have experience with it?

thanks!

I would think you would have to keep it on the clean channel so they dont mix with each other.
Quick question for you. Does that head not offer you enough distortion? blink.gif Just wondering rolleyes.gif

With my Toneport, those settings are awesome and it's just a modeler.

Thanks skennington... ill definetly use the clean channel!

The metal and insane channels definetly offer enough distortion. Im searching for more tone variety, you know? So i want to pick up the BB Preamp. It has a creamy Andy Timmons tone which none of the channels sound like.

Awe, I see, tone to me is what makes your style as well. Just checked out that pedal and it has some good feedback. I see none of the retailers are carrying it but that dont mean nothing. Give us a review if you decide to get it! smile.gif

FIrst try it on the clean channel, and then move to the crunch - maybe you will get a good sounding combination there too, who knows. wink.gif

Clean channel is the way to go, but you can experiment with overdrive pedal on other channels too to see how it sounds , also can be used for some lead boost maybe...

I think you will hear what's best when you try it out tongue.gif I once tried (just for fun) to connect my hi gain pedal (boss mt-2) to my amp, cube 60 with the heaviest distortion turned on (rectifier modeling), and it just buzzed ALOT. The guitar-sounds are just hidden behind a great wall of noise tongue.gif It may sound good on the crunch channel with an overdrive pedal though
