I refuse to cover Smoke On The Water. We sometimes do Highway Star also. But Space Truckin is one of my favourites.
I just noticed it says Thin Lizzy - Other Thin Lizzy. We normally play Jailbreak but we are playing a different one this time. Possibly Dedication.

Especially since it's not even allowed to play Smoke on the Water on real gigs On birthday parties and other private gigs it's alright if it can silence the constant nagging to hear it, but never in a public place, ever!
I think th eset list looks great! Nothing needs changing. Danger zone huh... that's a little wierd but still sooo cool!

We've played Cowboy song, Dancing in the moonlight and Don't belive a word - all work just fine. The soft version of "Don't belive" is epic! Angel of death is a great song too and Cold sweat is about as hard as they come.
What a great band that was!

I really love that song, great rock tune . Only ever heard one pub band play it and they did a really good cover
I prob would change the Pearl Jam one to 'Even Flow' another classic but thats my preferance

Mama Kin was one of their first songs. You can't beat Sweet Emotion, Mama Kin, Dream On, Seasons Of Wither and the original Walk This Way
Also for your question about a Blues jam this isn't that sort of gig. We have a really bluesy set for when we play other venues. This is a big classic rock pub.

The reason we aren't doing Even Flow is because we've done it the last two times we've played there so fancied a change

I think it's in E. Can't remember whether it is minor or major but I could be wrong. The song has two solos
E Minor I think

Tell us about the gig mate, what size is the venue, what are you playing (rhythm, lead..)
Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Nov 19 2008, 12:05 AM
It's a 250 capacity venue that is a big rocker pub and its a haven for local rock musicians. Me and my friend take half and half when it comes to solos. We both to lead and rhythm playing.

You guys should also do Burn by Deep Purple
Anyway, good luck on this mighty gig. It should be fun to see you it live
Posted by: Col Roberts Nov 19 2008, 06:57 AM
I don't see "Living Next Door To Alice" there
Seriously though, it's a really good set and I like these songs. Good luck with the gig , enjoy yourself.
