I've got a server at home which plays music and serves files (among other things...). I control things using my notebook. I've also got a PS3 connected to a beamer which I use for watching movies (they're streamed from my server) and playing games. But I try to limit the time I waste with tv, movies and games.

I love my media centre ! I also have a file serv set up at my house and its great, I can access all of my music, cable, DVDs and the web all from my couch biggrin.gif, The only problem is the cost for a good media centre, they can be very pricy. I built mine myself and it still cost me a fortune

Yep, they are still very pricey, considering the amount of external gear you have to get when you buy one. Media center alone is not that big investment, but when you get one, you gotta buy all other network components, additional cables, usually one more HD, and possibly HD TV. Also a good wireless keyboard/mice/remote is needed... smile.gif

For sure! A terrible mouse/keyboard can ruin the whole experience and turn it into an exercise in frustration tongue.gif Microsoft has some good media keyboard/mouse combos

Don't have one yet, but would be cool to have one at some point. It's a shame that Hulu doesn't work here in Europe sad.gif

I have one set up for playing media on my PS3 and PSP from my PC. It makes things so much easier. You can access it on any computer in the house, PS3, PSP, mobile. It's awesome. smile.gif

Can you tell me how you did that? especially how you set the PSP to play the media from the Media Center?

There is a free program called TVersity that I use mainly which is excellent at it. It's free but it is very high quality. I can get stuff on my PSP using that. smile.gif It's great as our house is like a wireless paradise smile.gif

If you want any more info then please let me know quickly as after this Sunday I won't be on here anymore.
