I know the software Cool Edit had a vocal cut function but it was very bad quality.
I refer to this website when I am looking for a backing track : http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/ The search engine is pretty accurate. |

It may be harder if your looking for local music. I have kind of the same problem where I live also.

You can try to do it yourself with a good EQ. Try to cut the frequencies in the song that are used for vocals. You may need a precise EQ, but the results are better then letting the machine do the same job + every song is mixed different.

As an alternative to EQ - and this is how most karaoke works:
Assuming the audio is stereo with the vocal mainly in the centre... First select the left chanel and invert/reverse phase it. Mix the left and right channels down in to a single mono file. Split the mono file into a stereo file that now has the mono file on both left and right channels. Reverse phase the left channel again. The new stereo will now have the original centre channel cancelled. It's not perfect and will take out anything in the centre i.e. including a large amount of the kick drum etc that may have been panned there. Also if any of the main vocal was panned off centre it will still be there. The above is similar to how a mid/side encoder works.
