Just before Christmas I succumbed to a total "impulse" buy.
Squier
paranormal 'cyclone'. ...
https://shop.fender.com/en-US/squier-electr...0377010556.htmlI've always wanted a shell pink Fender so I couldn't resist. It was a store demo model and pretty inexpensive (they're cheap to start with). The scale length is 24.75" (Gibson scale) whereas standard Fender scale is 25.5". *Mustangs and Duo Sonics are also shorter scale though 24" and 22" respectively. The guitar definitely plays differently than any of my other Fenders and the slanted Strat pkups make it sound different.
It plays well but the input jack, pots, wiring and tuning machines are really cheap. That's where the Chinese Squiers (and non US or Japan Fenders) cut cost - hardware and electronics. The pickups are stock, 'normal' import Strat pkups - neither great nor terrible. I have a set of better Strat pkups laying around that I may throw in.
