Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Howdy there!

Very nice tone and good interpretation here. Since you used a hollowbody, your tone is a bit different in comparison to Steph's, but it does justice to the piece just the same wink.gif

You have great dynamics and it seems to me that you have followed the original recording's feel very nicely!

Congratulations!

Cosmin

Hey this is very good. Nice to hear the tonal differences between the guitars as well.

You've got a nice feel to your playing. In a few places I felt that you were on the edge of keeping it in place.. it didn't feel as solid and confident as it could be. I think this is mainly due to timing... when it's relaxed and right on the beat then the listener is also relaxed. When I can hear moments of timing fluctuation, like being in front of the beat, it makes me hyper aware and I wait for a mistake. You didn't make any mistakes but more time with it would make it feel more natural to you.

There was a lick from 0:33-0:36 that demonstrates my point. The notes are correct but it's not flowing as well as it should. Interestingly, you did a much better job of this lick with the Strat smile.gif

Overall, very good work !

Hi MisterM!

This is a very tasty lesson and you can play the different licks very well. Comparing your take with Stephane's, there is an extra on the original take that is more related to feeling and groove. Stephane's playing is so smooth and has a killer manage of dynamics, vibrato and bending. Getting a bit more of it could have a good impact in your phrasing so I think that it would be a good idea to play a bit more this one over Stephane's playing and focus on:

- how he reaches the different notes (the feeling, the slides used, the intensities)
- his bending (how fast he reaches the target pitch, the intensity)
- vibrato
- groove

Each of these elements deserves your attention so work on each at a time in order to get the most from this fantastic guitarist.

Keep the good job!
