What Type Of Guitar Strings Do You Use?, Please share why you use them, brand and gauge

But sure to make yourself satisfied with tone and comfort while playing. Per example,many have asked me do I use 011 on my MM Axis. That's sound of guitar plus preamp etc...it's 009 all the time. However one of my heros (Allan Holdsworth) uses 8s on some guitars and up to 11s on others. So it's largely both a question of personal preference AND what works with the guitar . My fender is guaged with 9-42 bullets. I recently changed it for DR 10-46 I recently changed my strings for Schecter by Elixir 11-49. I love it so far, I think im sticking by it for now on. On any 22 fret guitar that's not getting alternate tunings (like it has a FR and is a pain to change tunings), they get 9's. My RG has a locking trem, so I use 9's on it as well. The Schecter has 10's and I use it for all alt tunings, and will likely put 11's on it. I use Ernie Ball strings. I might give DR strings a shot next time though. After playing with EB's for a while from switching for D'Addario XLs , I was sold, because EB's didn't have that horrendous break in period that made my tone to go crap. I used to play my guitar when it was restrung like a man possessed, just getting as much grime from my hands as well as bends in in as short amount of time as possible. EB's also don't seem to corrode as much as the XLs did, as I've got pretty sweaty hands. Elixirs played magnificently, but they made my tone way too bright to play the kind of music I like, but it's the only string I'd put on an acoustic. The one set of DR's I had I put on my String-thru schecter and 1/2 that coating came off on the EBG strings so after about a half hour of playing I had 3 black strings and 3 silver strings.
