once or twice a year.. mostly at the most inconvenient times, like when you really need to play the guitar, shops closed, no reserve strings... laugh.gif

I used to break them constantly then I started putting graphite in the nut and on the saddles, works incredibly well for some unknown reason.

When I am on tour I change them every day, never risk while doing shows. I also have 2 backup guitars ready but I don't change string on those that often. Otherwise I change every 2 weeks if I play evey day at home. After 2 weeks they lose all sustain and I can't tune them properly.

I voted I can't remember, because it's ages since I broke one... but back in the days when I was 17 and played my Tele I used to break a lot... maybe the bridge was too sharp... who knows.

I've never broken any string on my Sgs/Strat. And sometimes I hit hard!

I usually break a string when my friends are watching me play guitar. It's so cool to get them crazy high notes by doing insane bends. Of course I just get laughed at when they break... tongue.gif

I change the strings every two to three weeks so hardly ever break any, just on the very odd occasion I break one, so a couple of times a year or so I guess smile.gif
