GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Not Having A Guitar To Play Is Like Not Having An Arm.

Posted by: Capn' Jef Dec 19 2007, 11:25 AM

My guitar is in the shop and I'm lending my back up crap guitar.

I even get a bit of a phantom limb syndrome...

I'm going on 4 days without my beautiful les paul and my finger crave the scales and the notes.

I'm becoming a wreck and its really noticeable. I play 5-6 hours a day and now nothing for half a week.

If you have a nice guitar to play right now, just reflect on your awesome situation.

It's Chilli's baby back ribs!

You could always go to your local guitar shop and pick up a nice axe for a few minutes to calm the cravings. Or try the various gums and patches on the market. smile.gif

Oh yeah, I have the same feeling at the moment, only the difference is that I have my guitar, but my back hurts so much I can't play. It's my third day without playing guitar, but it feels like years. So yeah, I feel for you, it's horrible!

Posted by: shammy Dec 20 2007, 01:04 AM

I know the feeling too, I had surgey and couldn't play for a long time, it suck's. I would do what the guy above posted and go to a guitar shop and tool around for a bit if you can, that will give you an excuse to check out a new axe also. Curious, why is your les paul in the shop anyway's?

Posted by: PlayAllDay Dec 20 2007, 03:07 AM

Hang in there - it will be back soon! It's a bad bad thing to be without a decent guitar - I went on holiday last year and couldn't take a guitar and the only one where I was staying was, hmmm, crap...
I played it anyway but it was not fun and I couldn't wait to get back to my brood at home.
I remember that feeling with a shudder - it still affects me. ohmy.gif

Amen.. this is why having multi guitars is a + if my jackson breaks a string my schecters are always just waiting in another room smile.gif

I understand. My les paul was in the shop like you and I was stuck with my suckish Strat. This strat wasn't even a real Fender it wasn't even name brand. That sucked. Hope you get your baby back soon.
