Hi PeteLucifersAngels!! Welcome to your Gab's Army thread!!

Could you please tell me a bit about you, your musical tastes, influences, strengths and weaknesses? I would need some videos of you playing rhythm and solo guitar, so please post your best material here. If you have some music or ideas of your own, also post them here. Also let me know how you think that I can help you and what are your expectations for our job. You can check the other Army's thread to discover the different modalities of this project.

The principles of our Army are:

+ Improve your technique
+ Make music and solos
+ Have fun
+ Destroy the enemy (hahaha not realy just kidding... )

hmmm... my strenght is deffenatly rythm playing. I'm mostly playing rythm metal guitar influenced by bands like slayer and exodus, and in general thrash but im into (and likes) almost every subgenre of metal.

Im okay at pedal point riffing and stuff like that.

when it comes to soloing my strenght is tapping even though i can't play any advanced stuff.

I would love to improve my soloing a lot and maybe learn to sweep pick.

my favorite guitarrists will probably Chuck Shouldiner (death) and John Petrucci (Dream Theater)

here is some of my videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9R43hvWs3w (im only playing guitar in this one)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vHQo_n0cz0 (original song, im playing all the guitars (not bass) and singing the chorus (even though i suck at singing)

its all old videos but i hope you will get an idea biggrin.gif

Hi mate! Thanks for the introduction and for the videos! I can note that you have a good rhythm guitar level but there are your timing sometimes needs some adjust. Basing on the Gary Moore cover, your lead guitar really needs some work as you said. We have to work on bending, vibrato and also shred techniques considering that you want to play metal.

On this first week we will start working on this exercises that will became the warming up of every day's routine.

LESSON #1 – WARMING UP & ENDURANCE

As the name of the lesson says, you have to gain endurance thanks to this ones, so you should play them for some time until your hands start to feel tired or some pain starts. Always relax your fingers after each exercise.

To work on your timing I chose this lesson to work on. It has many different rhythms and note values so it will be a really good training.

The idea is that you post your progress here and that we entry a good take of this one to the Reg Program to receive feedback from other instructors.

What do you think??

Gab.-

Everything should be played with legato technique, as it's written in the guitar pro file. If you don't have guitar pro, you can check this site where you can download a free software that opens those files.

If you have never practised this type of exercises, you will feel some muscles working that you never worked. After many repetitions you could start to feel those muscles tired and maybe some pain, you have to stop playing before that happens, relax and stretch your hands and fingers.
