GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Floyd Rose Fine Tunner Question

Posted by: holoshreder Sep 11 2008, 02:35 PM

hey guys

i use a floyd rose tremollo on my guitar and iv noticed that if i want to retune my guitar (even with the floyd rose lovking sistem sometimes string get out of tune slightly)

so i began retuning them but now i cant because the finetuners reached their limit

perhaps a change of strings is in order?
i have these strings for 3 months now xD

happens from time to time, all I do (if the strings arnt too old) is rewind your fine tuners out to half way again, undo the locking nut, tune up again with the tuners, lock down again and you should be good to go again, with adjustment back in the fine tuners smile.gif

To be honest, I always tune up this way before each practice etc, then lock down, strings will change with temperature etc and the tuners are simply what they are called, "fine" tuners smile.gif

Make sure your springs are balanced.

This happened with me and it's annoying but just do what Smells advised. It will work a treat. It's just a bit fiddly compared to simple guitar tuners.
