Cable Confusion

I've been planning to buy a Roland SPD-20, which is a small percussion pad, and it has two 3.5 mm output jacks (L/mono,R), I'm planning to connect them to a small mixer. I've been wondering what cable to use for that: two TRS jacks (balanced) or two TS jacks (unbalanced). I've checked the manual and googled like crazy , but I can't seem to find a decent answer.

Questions About Ibanez Neck

Question 1:
I'm thinking about buying an Ibanez RG1570 and I noticed it had a 5pc Wizard Maple/Walnut neck. I was wondering what this means, what part of the neck is walnut, what part is maple and what does 5 piece stand for?

Question 2:
I'm not really sure because I couldn't find a lot of info on these necks, but I think I read somewhere that this is an unfinished neck (or lightly oiled neck). According to Warmoth (Link) both walnut and maple necks require a finish to resist moisture related warping and twisting. So is it safe to play this and does it require any special maintenance?
