how much does this little beast cost? I've been lookin at the daddy version, as well as Victory amps, but the V's are too rich for my blood.

It's SHRINKING!!!! smile.gif

I think they are about $1,200 so they are NOT cheap but cheaper than it's big brother.

Victory are nice but more show piece than amp IMHO. The MARK V is a workhorse and one of the best sounding, most versatile amps ever built, again IMHO. smile.gif I'm not an "Amp Guy" but if I ever broke down and bought a pricey tube head it would be a Mark V.

The Rob Chapman 'Silverback' signature model and this new V30 are amazing amps! Although they aren't cheap, you're quite right. I think the Silverback comes in at a hefty £1800 or thereabouts!!!

There are some really nice tube amps coming out of late but I'm totally addicted to modelling. The perks of having every effect and truckloads of amps in one box is just to tantalizing for me. Running a POD HD Pro atm but probably upgrade to axefx2 xl before the end of the yr

I"m with ya smile.gif The MESA BOOGIE IIc+ emulation on my ELEVEN RACK is the only reason I havn't put down money on a real boogie. But honestly, it's so good, it did make me look in to buying a real IIC+ which, come to find out, is sort of the "Holy Grail" lead tone for many folks.

The MARK V mesa can reproduce the IIC+ along with other killer boogie amps all in one unit. So it's almost like a processor in that it's really 4 amps.

I do love messing with processors smile.gif My most recent, the DIGITECH 2112 was used by the guitar player in CANNIBAL CORPSE for a while but I gotta say I don't know how. I can't get it to monster CHUNK no matter what I do. It was fun to play with but I think I"m gonna sell it for something new to play with smile.gif

Yeah I lovethe mesa on my POD and the bogner and engl go well too. My biggest problem is the fact there are no trails. I love huge verbs and delays on my lead tone. And also to get my ideal rythem tones I tend to find I max out the DSP so I always have to have my lead and Rythem on 2 diffrent patches. Not ideal live. Not looking forward to shelling out the cash for the POD but it seems to address most the issues I have atm. Hopefully it might be my last amp for a while tho. Seem to be upgrading every 12 months at the moment

You could just spend a couple hundred bux and get trails with a 2112 or a 2120 from ebay. They have two processorrs in them so you can keep your delay/reverb trails when switching patches. When they came out this was a huge deal.

The axe fx will let you do this as well but you gotta pony up a good wad of cash smile.gif
