Even tho purchase plans are on hold, I'm still researching guitars. I have heard a lot of disparaging remarks regarding the ESP LTD series guitars. Looking over at MF, they have 62 ESP guitars. All but a few regular models and a handful of signature models bear the LTD logo. I kinda like what I see in the ESP's so what gives with the LTDs? Good or bad?

LTD are made in Korea. From what I've heard the top models are well worth it.

What I've experienced and what I've heard is that for the money, LTD is about as good as it gets smile.gif

These are made with all the good stuff: mahogany body, quilted maple top, EMGs, a real Floyd. At this point, it's not what they're made of, but where they're made. In other words, I'd be all over that blue one at the bottom of the page. For 949.00, that's an incredible guitar.

Used to own an LTD EX400 BD with EMG 81/60 pups and a LTD Viper Baritone with EMG Zakk Wylde pickups. Both well made, both nice sounding metal guitars. Both Korean made, fairly comfortable necks. In my opinion though, with EMG pickups, soundwise you aren't going to hear a hell of a lot of difference between LTD and ESP models in my opinion.
