GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Important Instructor Thread Question!

Posted by: Marshmall0wz May 6 2008, 03:04 AM

I've just been wondering about what people think about rules for the Ask An Instructor threads. I personally think it's fine to give your opinions AFTER the instructor answers. its just more polite. i know that GMC has an amazing community though so im not saying its much of a problem. What do the instructors think?. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

P.S. the smiles are to assure people im not upset smile.gif just thought someone should say something.

Man, this has been covered many times and I feel your frustration if you asked an Instructor a question and was answered by a member first. I think that it should be taken lightly as people are just trying to help.

Let the Instructor address the people who answer for them and if addressed properly, they won't do it again. Just my opinion of course and nobody wants to be rude but I agree that the Instructor should be given a chance to answer first. smile.gif

To be honest,I do not mind a lot when members answers first,
of course with intention to help.
Some of us instructors are not online all the time
and every help is well appreciated.
On the other hand it is polite to wait for instructors to replies first.
So,watch first and see to whom question is answered. smile.gif

I think that you should wait for instructor to answer, but if some body else haw constructive answer I don't mind if he/she answer first. And as Muris sad,if the instructor is not on line fro some time, some body should answer the question.smile.gif

I think the instructor should usually be the first one to answer, but i think in some cases it also depends on the question asked.
Sometimes you might get a just as good answer from a fellow member, which can save time on all parts.

Sometimes people ask for a quick reply also and they are quite desperate so if somebody feels they have the answer I think that should be ok. But on the whole instructor should be first to answer. smile.gif

i am agree with Muris

Posted by: Bogdan Radovic May 6 2008, 06:23 PM

Its polite to wait, but if someone is trying to be helpful its ok with me smile.gif

I think it is not a problem if someone else gives the answer - if he/she know it. But often questions for instructors are personal, so it is natural for instructor to answer them. I think everyone here have a common sense not to answer others private matters smile.gif Other than that if the topic is more-less universal, then why not. smile.gif
