I finally ordered a couple mods for my Jem Jr. I have the white model. I went with a pearloid pickguard and a Gotoh GE1996T gold bridge. From what I could gather online, this bridge seems to work well save for possibly needing to keep original posts. Has anybody here happened to try this bridge on the Jem Jr. and if so what was your experience? Thanks in advance for any information.

So I've been a member here for a little while and I thought I should probably introduce myself. My name is Bruce Campbell. I live in Nova Scotia, which is on the east coast of Canada among the Atlantic provinces. I work for the Canadian Coast Guard doing application/software development and simulation control/support. I've been playing guitar for many years on and off. I've never really committed myself to the instrument as much as I should have. Lately I've been trying to fix that. I'm so glad I have found this community to help me along the way. Everyone here seems so down to earth and very friendly. The instructors have been fantastic and really give me that drive I need to keep going. So thanks for having me and I look forward to continuing to grow with this great community.

Original lesson: Neoclassical Sweeping & Legato by Gabriel Leopardi

I decided to give this lesson a go because I thought it may help me with my sweeping. I'm still working on trying to get Ostinato Etude up to tempo and also needed to try something else. It's tricky to get this one super clean and up to tempo and also on the beat which I think I stray from here or there. I know I miss the end of the A minor shape hammer on/pull off. The end legato run is also slow and sloppy. I think I am going to try to get a better run at this later this week. Here's my first take anyway. Thanks for viewing and for any feedback.

Original lesson: Ostinato Etude by Piotr Kaczor

So I'm still working on this exercise when I have the time. I still cannot play it up to 100bpm but this take is at 96bpm. I still miss some notes and maybe fall out of time around the key change. The last sweep is pretty horrible. I feel as though I am making some progress though. I still drop that bar dive in there ;). When I post my final take at 100bpm for grading, I'll be sure to remove that. Sometimes when I hit that record button my nerves get the best of me but I know that I still need more practice with this one and I will eventually get a clean play through at tempo. Determined. Thanks for watching. -Bruce

So I just wanted to post this quick thread to thank Kristofer and Gabriel for their feedback and pointers on my first REC for Piotr's inspiring Ostinato Etude. I've been practicing as much as I can when I have time (my 3 year old keeps me busy ?).

Kristofer, I've been trying the 80bpm track and it's helped me clean things up with my accuracy, thanks!

Gabriel, I'm paying closer attention to the range of motion my pick attack makes and it has immediately made me faster. Just need to get used to not swinging my hand so much. I'm actually getting much closer to being able to play it up to normal tempo, except for those two final sweeps.

Thanks for everything, gentlemen. I really love this place. I'm not a huge Facebook guy but man, am I ever glad I came across that ad, lol. ???
