There are several reasons why we consider Phil to be one of the most deserving for this award.

* Progress: Phil has been devoted to practicing and has followed the advice given by GMC instructors. http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=52914 you can see one of Phil's early REC takes, and a http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=54288. We have seen most noticeable improvement in the following areas: Ear, timing, lead and rhythm playing.

* Community input: Phil has been a positive force in our daily discussions, collabs and off-topic chat. I dare say that thanks to Phil, there is also noticeable difference in the community atmosphere.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments .

When I found out I had been chosen for this award I had a tear in my eye. It really means a lot to me and I am over the moon.

Thanks to all GMC staff especially Ben, Kris and Todd who have helped me a lot.

An extra special mention has to go to my current mentor Gab and my last mentor Cosmin, you both encouraged me and gave me the confidence to post first to my thread, and then to the REC zone. Without your kind and encouraging words I would have never done it.

Thanks also to all the GMC'ers for making this such a great place to be

I hope this award will encourage others to persevere with their playing and maybe coax some of those that are too shy to post, to come out of the shadows. Trust me, nobody was less likely than me to post anything for everyone to see, but the positive comments and encouragement from everyone on here really helps. Don't be shy, come on in.

Also - remember the next student to be awarded could be YOU! We will actively be looking for students who practice hard and who contribute positively to the community. It would be really cool if we could do one of these per month.

This defines what GMC is all about! It is not only fun to watch & encourage a fellow GMC'er but seeing (or hearing ) the results of many dedicated hours of practice is truly inspiring!

Awesome Phil - I am really happy it arrived safely!

That 1,5 Clayton pick is what I use on a daily basis. I use 5 different picks, but this one is my go to for rhythm, aggressive funk soloing (where I want to get "deep" into the strings) and bass guitar.

I cant wait to send out the next certificate...but who should get it?!

I just joined and wanted to say how AWESOME...Congratulations

I wish that I could have watched your journey , but it got summed up pretty good, you must feel pretty proud.
