Hey From La!

I just joined GMC after checking it out for awhile. I've been playing guitar for a long time, mostly songwriting & playing in my band for the last 20 years. I'm also a vintage guitar and amp collector. The reason I joined was I thought that Kris & crew's approach to learning was unique and inviting. Everyone is free to jump in where ever they want to learn. From theory, soloing, specific music forms or right to the beginner level, it's all there. The best thing is that everything is laid out and it is up to the user to chart his/her course for learning. The guitar is a unique instrument in the sense that a person can learn a few chords and start playing songs relatively soon after beginning and in not too long, be able to entertain themselves and others. Some stop there and others keep going all the way to the virtuoso level (and every level in between). That is why this site struck me as so special. By providing theory, lessons and technique in all styles and levels, it allows everyone from the beginner to advanced player to jump in right where they need to be.
