Hello fella's

Here's one for you;

I want to record some stuff to my laptop, but u havnt got a line in on it,

If you want anything to sound decent then you need a soundcard. You have USB cards for $80. If you have a mic input you can use that for "line in" but you might have some sync problems and a lot of noise with those built-in cards.

Yeah Emir, I noticed that noise also tongue.gif
Thats why i was wondering tongue.gif
So the only option is to buy an external audio-card?

Can always go the pricey alternative route. PCMCIA Sound cards/

UX1 tone ports are great beginner items mate, they usually come bundled with pod farm which is enitrely useable for some guitar sounds, in particular I find the Marshall JCM emulations to be pretty good. Only problem with line 6 stuff is that it is quite limited in terms of flexibility with other software packages such as Guitar Rig etc, it only really works well ith its native software.
If you have the money to put into a decent external interface then the EMU 404 is a fantastic interface with lots of bundled software, that would be my choice all day long.

try an external portable USB audio card such as the AudioBox by Presonus

Try portable usb products from presonus or focusrite, great preamps on those units.

I use Line 6 Toneport UX2. Pod Studio (as its called now) GX will be a great solution for portable recording. Its cheap and it sounds very good + its very easy to use and dial in cool tones...

you know with Line 6 UX2. can you create backing tracks and insert drums>? so if i have my logitech pro 9000 will the UX2 then do me to record myself playing? and like i said to create backing tracks to play along to???

Line 6 UX2 is an external sound card interface and pretty good one. Yes you will be able to make backing tracks with it. You can make backing tracks actually with integrated sound card on your PC. But recording is problem and its where UX2 stepps in and allows you to really easy record your guitar (or vocals or any) tracks.
Logitech 9000 + UX2 (logitech for video, UX2 for audio) will allow you to shoot some cool videos. But for making backing tracks you will need a DAW (Cubase,Reaper and similar) + some VST plugins (for drums,bass,keyboards etc) and you will need to program them via midi in order to play something for you.
