QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

I love his guitar playing, not so much his lyrics and songs though his voice is decent. A lot of it is just kind of cheeseball to me, though not all.

I've been a fan of Gary Moore for years. He's awesome live! I live not too far from where he was raised in Northern Ireland, so he has always been an inspiration for my guitar playing!

Love his work with Thin Lizzy, but also some of his solo work, especially his cover of The Messiah Will Come Again.

Gary Moore is one major part of why I wanted to play the guitar...Gary is the most emotional string bender !!! biggrin.gif ...A track which isn't listed above: (among other great songs) ...end of the world !!absolutely awesome...
From his newest album I can warmly recommnend: Trouble at home, nowhere fast (These are pretty slow ballads...but very lovely)

I'm not a fan but I use to jam over some of his songs (Still got the Blues is one of my favourites). But also I played some stuff with Thin Lizzy and it was great, one of the first band using harmonized melodies with 2 guitars (I think I read somewhere that Steve Harris from Iron Maiden saw them and starts working with this melodies smile.gif )

Although I am not a fan of his blues, I loved his earlier works particularly Black Rose: The rock legend with Thin Lizzy (still get depressed thinking about the untimely death of Phil Lynott).

Gary Moore is great, he plays very good, one of my influences with his ultra fast pentatonic techniques.
